Commedia dell'Arte Day was conceived to promote awareness of this tradition, bornin italy but now practised worldwide, and to demonstrate the existence of an international community that is recognized within this tradition. As much as Theatre Day and Dance Day, as declared by the Internation Theatre Institute (ITI), this event will also be open to all those who, members and non-members of SAT, who wish to participate by organizing an event (shoe, lecture, conference, class) in their own city or by attending one of the celebrations in a participating city.
For 2010 the center of the celebration will be in Bologna, where FraternalCompagnia is in charge of organizing a full day of events.
At the same time, Faction of Fools Theatre Company, of Washington, DC, will be coordinating the events taking place in the rest of the world.
