Commedia dell’Arte Class at Mira Costa College Community Learning Center on Wed. 2/23/2011, 1:30 PM -3:30 PM.
Sherri Allen teaches a semster-long course entitled "Self-Awareness Through Improvisation" at MiraCosta Community College in Oceanside, California (USA). Self-Awareness Through Improvisation is especially geared for senior citizens, and is designed to use improvisation as a means of developing self-awareness, imagination, and creativity, thus enhancing the ability to interact socially. Classroom improvisations emphasize the mind-body connection through thinking, listening, and reacting to others.
In honor of Commedia dell'Arte Day 2011, Wednesday's class (February 23, 2011) will be devoted to Improvisations based upon stock-characters from the Italian Renaissance.
A brief lecture and demonstration in Commedia dell’Arte and Stock Characters will be followed by Warm-ups, Physicalization, and Improvisations based upon stock-characters from the Italian Renaissance.
We look forward to celebrating this amazing day: Evviva Commedia dell'Arte!
